Nevada is the Silver State, and in many ways this great desert state is America’s playground. Las Vegas attracts millions of people from all over the world every year, but there is a lot more to Nevada than the famous Vegas Strip. Here you’ll find eight public universities and colleges and over a dozen private universities, colleges, and trade schools. Some of the well known schools here include the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and the Desert Research Institute.

The median household income here is well over the national median at over $56,000. Taxes are low here, and the state has great resources as a result of gambling revenues, so schools, hospitals, and other public services are typically very well maintained. The two most populous cities in Nevada are Reno and Las Vegas.
